TAKE ALL DAY WANDERING UP PIKES PEAK HIGHWAY
Pikes Peak Highway, one of the most super sweet 19 miles of road in Colorado. Winding through some of Colorado’s most spectacular alpine scenery and breathtaking views, then ending at a whooping 14,115 ft. summit.
A hiking trail here, a bike trail there, numerous lakes, historic inn, gift shops, the views, and looking for bigfoot will keep you intrigued all day.

You can ride your bike on Pikes Peak highway all the way to the Summit (Yikes!) if desired. Biking regulations.
You’ll want to stop at Historic Glen Cove Inn before going farther and heading up above timberline. Super sweet gift shop, nice dining area with a wide selection of food and in summer, gold panning and rock climbing.
Lots of adventurous miles to go, upcoming switchbacks, out of treeline, above the clouds into glorious views and stopping points.
Boulder Park is a great short hike on the way up to the Summit, but catch your breath, it’s an astounding 13,380 ft.
Upon reaching the Summit, the Summit House awaits and everywhere you turn you’ll find sweeping views of Colorado’s glorious mountain ranges surrounding you.
Summit House is filled with trinkets, souvenirs, gifts, and warm outwear for those who were surprised by the temperatures at the Summit and came unprepared!
Munchies and drinks available at the snack bar, or better yet, the super yummy, Pikes Peak Donuts the Summit House is famous for.
Another popular and easy way to reach the Summit is the Pikes Peak Cog Railway located in Manitou Springs, CO. Adventurous? Starting in Manitou Springs, CO and ending at the Pikes Peak Summit it’s a Colorado 14er must do.
An awesome day hike on the back side of Pikes Peaks, The Crags. Hike where the locals go!
Visit Pikes Peak America’s Mountain to help answer any questions you may have and entrance fees costs.
Yup, it’s a paid venue which normally you can “get outside” in Colorado for free but Pikes Peak Highway and the Summit is exceptional and worth the costs.
