At first, when reaching Red Rock trailhead, not much was visible, but after hiking about a ¼ mile, a mini paradise of sandstone red rocks was before us.
We hiked towards the left on a designated trail and circled around the rocks all the while thinking we’d discovered a hidden paradise.
Not sure the exact loop for Red Rock Trail as we ended up doing numerous social trails throughout the rocks and kept landing back on the main trail.
Please check out “What’s in Your Day Pack” for a list of recommended items anytime hiking. We never leave home without our backpacks! You never know when a trail will be along…
Hiking in and out of the rocks and forest was so scenic and so different. A couple of times ending up within the rocks and having to find our way back. We loved it.
Not finding a trail sign anywhere along the hike, we wandered on any trail and ended up back at the trailhead with about 3 miles on our boots.

All trails were easy. If looking for a day hike, Red Rock Trail isn’t it, but it’s certainly worth checking out as a mini-adventure.
You could spend a lot of time exploring in and out of the rocks, some areas even a bit challenging. Bring the kids and get them hooked on hiking. Bring their mountain bikes and they will feel like pros riding in and around the rocks.
