Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA of the Rockies offers a variety of year-round activities and lodging on 5000+ acres in the heart of Colorado’s mountains. Located in Granby, CO it’s one of Colorado’s best-kept secrets.
We popped in to hike the family-friendly Waterfall Hike.
Stats and Map located at the bottom
First stop, the Registration Building, to get a map of the vast area surrounding the Ranch and find the Waterfall Hike.
It is quiet and peaceful, situated far back in the mountain, with a small parking area and restrooms.
Flat, easy walking on a dirt path until we reached a crossroad with signage. Go right, easy to the Falls. Go left, harder to the Falls. We went left. Later realizing we could make it a loop hike, returning on the easy path.
The more challenging trail is Larson Trail. You will find signage later in the hike.
Kids Love Hiking
Beautiful, shady, and slightly moderate heading left through tall pines. Certainly doable for most, even kids.
The Waterfall is sweet, small, and stunning, with moss and lush greenery. It’s tight near the Falls to stop and hang out if others are there. We took a short hike to see above the Falls and headed back, leaving families to enjoy hanging out.
